Indians fans were dealt a reality check as James Anderson starred in England's wrap up of a thoroughly dominant win on Day 5! Anderson reverse-swung his way to a 6.6% increase as Shubman Gill and Ajinkya Rahane were undone by the Englishman. Only Virat Kohli was able to stand up to Anderson with a fifty and a 4% increase before being accounted for by Ben Stokes. Although much was expected of Rishabh Pant, the southpaw couldn't come up with a typically blazing knock on a difficult pitch to bat on in Chennai! But he would ideally get another crack at the Chepauk pitch later this week as India and England square off in the second Test starting 13th February 2021!As we build-up to the second Test, our focus shifts to Indian vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, whose registered the least match score in the first Test, but this isn't actually a one-off. Rahane's form has been under scrutiny over the last year or so. Although he hasn't played regularly, no thanks to COVID-19, Rahane's decline in form currently sees his fantasy shares trading at 38.60 Sixer Coins per Share! While there isn't any immediate danger to his spot in the side, there's certainly a question mark on his viability in the Sixer Market! Walking along the same lines, here's some much-needed insight on Ajinkya Rahane and the rest of the Market!Rahane Averages a Match Score of 44.39 in His Last 10 Tests! It's been a topsy-turvy campaign for India over the last few Tests. Although they were beaten by New Zealand, the Indians came back strong Down Under, only to be thumped at home by England. Only a few players featured in all of these Tests with Ajinkya Rahane being one. In fact, he even captained India to a historic series win against Australia not too long ago. However, there's some intrigue surrounding Rahane the batsman heading into the second Test. For starters, Rahane averages a match score of 44.39 in his last ten Tests with only three 50+ match scores to his name. He has scored only 612 runs at an average of nearly 38, which is a touch under-par for a player of his calibre. During this period, he has scored two hundreds, although the rest of his contributions haven't made a significant impact on the outcome of any Test. Regarding one of India's best batsmen away from home, Rahane could only score one 50+ score in 12 outings, something that does worry Indian fans. His first Test performance in Chennai was disappointing. Although he was undone by a Jimmy Anderson peach, Rahane was at fault given he wasn't able to account for the reverse swing on offer. But Rahane, being the experienced candidate he is, shouldn't be too worried about his steep decline. He has a knack of coming up with the goods at the need of the hour, making him a valuable asset in the Sixer Market! Although there are question marks over his price tag and his viability in the Tests, Rahane's career average of 41.79 should suggest bigger things for him. And considering that he scored a memorable ton at the MCG not too long ago, Rahane is definitely one to watch out for in the Sixer Market! Anderson Reserve Swings His Way To A 6.6% Increase! Will England Still Stick With Their Rotation Policy?Rahane's dismissal in the second innings was the talk of the town as James Anderson unleashed a reverse-swinging snorter to castle him out of the game. This was one of three wickets he picked, earning him a 6.6% increase on Day 5 alone. But such are the riches England boasts of that team management had already signalled their intent to manage their bowler's load. While Archer and Stokes weren't part of the Sri Lanka tour, James Anderson certainly was and could well sit out of the next Test despite his rapid rise. The thirty-eight-year-old is still pretty fit and clearly in good form as well. Although Stuart Broad and Mark Wood's likes wait on the wings, Anderson's experience, read 158 Tests, and his track record with the old ball makes him a great asset! But will he be retained by the English management? There's a big chance he does play again at the Chepauk but only time will tell!
