In the battle of the finest batsmen in the world, Joe Root struck the first blow with a fine century against the Indians on Friday. The England captain was flawless en route to his 128* as he notched up a match score of 81.92. He was well complemented by Dominic Sibley, who was unlucky to get out on the final ball of the day courtesy of a Jasprit Bumrah. Both Sibley and Bumrah did their stocks no harm on Day 1 with the latter in particular revelling with a fantasy stock price increase of 8.7%. Apart from Bumrah, only Ashwin and Ishant Sharma were able to hold their own with the hero from Gabba, Washington Sundar struggling with his line and length all day. At the end of day's play, the English are well set at 263 for 3 with Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler still to get into their groove. With their backs up against the wall, the Indians should make it difficult for the tourists on what promises to be a riveting day of cricket in Chennai!Later today, the Big Bash League 2021 concludes at the SCG as the defending champions Sydney Sixers take on the most successful BBL team, Perth Scorchers. Some big names such as Josh Philippe and Colin Munro are set for action at the SCG although one cannot take their eye off James Vince at the moment. The Englishman smashed a 98* the last time these two sides met with the game-ending unusually courtesy of Andrew Tye bowling a wide, leaving Vince stranded short of a ton. Apart from the mini-battle between him and Tye, there's more to Vince, especially in the Sixer Market! Walking along the same lines, here's some much-needed insight on James Vince and the rest of the Sixer Market! Is Vince Sixers' X-Factor? The Englishman is up by 67.30% in his last five BBL Games! If James Vince's season were to be divided into three parts, by the end of the second third, you would have already branded him a dud in the Sixer Market! Down by 7% and only 203 runs to his name, Vince was down for the count. His inability to convert starts into big ones came back to haunt him as the Sixers went through a rough patch themselves. Apart from Josh Philippe, none of the other Sixer batsmen was getting in the act consistently with a lot of scrutiny on their star overseas talent James Vince. He wasn't doing much wrong per se. The right-handed batsman, who was batting at number three, was given the license to attack the bowlers from the word go. But with the extra cover of the powerplay overs, Vince struggled to get going from ball one onwards. This showed in his strike-rate of less than 120 although no one expected him to turn around his fortunes with this degree of success!Over his last five games, Vince has scored 239 runs at a strike-rate of over 150. Also, he averages a match score of 78.50, which is double the match score he averaged in his first ten games. To top it off, Vince saw a stunning fantasy rise of 67.30%, the highest in the BBL this season! This rise has coincided with a promotion to the top of the order, which has now allowed him to play more freely. He is able to make good use of the powerplay conditions and once when the spinners are back into play, he deals with them like a surgeon, milking ones and twos while getting the odd boundary. He does have a perfect match score of 150 against the Scorchers in his previous outing, but the work isn't done yet. Given Vince's form and his fantasy stock price of 56.60 Sixer Coins per Share, he is definitely in for a higher rise. But will he be able to turn the heat on the Scorchers again? With the PSL also coming up, adding Vince to your portfolio might not be a bad idea at all!Nortje Stuns Babar and Co in Rawalpindi! Stock Up by 12%!Moving over to Rawalpindi, Anrich Nortje was the star of the show for the touring South Africans as he picked up his third five-wicket haul in his short yet sweet Test career. His pace and accuracy were too hot to handle for Babar Azam and his colleagues as they were bundled out for 272. In reply, the South Africans are placed at 106 for 4 with Quinton de Kock leading a mini-revival with a match score of 51.77. With Temba Bavuma also giving him company, the Proteas would love to get a handy lead in the first innings against the likes of Shaheen Afridi, who is available in the Market for 46.1 Sixer Coins per Share! It's getting tense in the Sixer Market with the competition for fantasy stocks intensifying with each passing hour! Watch out for new stock supply at 2:00 PM IST and keep an eye out for this space for more daily updates!
